Eunice

The Gospel Coalition Arizona and Phoenix Seminary have partnered to create The Eunice Initiative, a 3-year program aimed at helping women become better teachers of the Bible within a complementarian framework. Phoenix Seminary professors, local pastors, and female leaders will provide a mixture of theological instruction and practical training to equip women to better serve their local churches, homes, and communities.

Who

This training is for women who aspire to teach or currently already teach the Scriptures to other women and/or children. Whether you are teaching women’s Bible study, children’s Sunday school, or through one-on-one discipleship, we celebrate the many contexts in which this teaching may occur.

How

Eunice focuses each year on both the principles and practicals of teaching. We are currently registering for year 3, but you can start during any year.

Principles of Teaching: These classes provide theological instruction taught by Phoenix Seminary professors. Each evening will include a lecture followed by a time of Q&A. You will be asked to spend some time reading in preparation for class.

Practicals of Teaching: These classes provide training in exegesis, theological reflection and application. Each evening will include a time of teaching by a local pastor, small group time for applying skills, followed by a teaching demonstration by a woman who is a master teacher. You will be asked to spend time reading in preparation for class, as well as time preparing worksheets for the assigned scripture.
